Can I still buy products online?

We have closed down our New Zealand e-Commerce site today and will be taking no further online orders.

Can I buy from The Good Guys Australia site?

At present, we do not ship products from Australia to New Zealand.

Can I call a store and place an order over the phone?

Please use the Contact Us link on this website to make contact with an individual store, should you wish to talk to them about a product purchase.

I have an existing store credit, can I still use this?

Yes you can. Until July 27th 2014 you can use your store credit in any one of our 5 Auckland stores unless it expires beforehand.

I purchased a product recently that qualified me for a Store Credit, will I receive this?

Yes you will, and you will be able to use it in any of our 5 stores prior to July 27th 2014.

I am entitled to make a claim for a Store Credit, can I still do this?

Yes you can, please use the link on the website to do so and remember to use your store credit in store before we close on July 27th 2014.

I have a Gift Card, can I still use this?

Yes you can, however you will need to use it by July 27th 2014 in store. After July 27th 2014, it cannot be redeemed anywhere and you will not be entitled to a cash refund.

Can I get a refund for a Gift Card or Store Credit that I won’t use?

No refunds will be given for Gift Cards & Store Credits that are not redeemed. You have until July 27th 2014 to redeem in one of our 5 Auckland stores.

I recently made a purchase that came with a bonus gift, will I still receive this?

Any advertised Gifts with Purchase will be honored either when you collect your purchase from store or delivered to your address. This may be after July 27th 2014.

I made a purchase using GE Finance or Q card, can I continue to pay this off and receive the interest free period?

Yes you can, there is no change to your contract with either GE Finance or Q Card.

Will the current 18 month interest free offer that is advertised to run until 7th July still on offer?

Yes.

I have a faulty product that I would like to be repaired, replaced or refunded, what can I do?

Prior to July 27th 2014, please come in or contact one of our 5 stores to arrange.

After July 27th 2014, and it is within the manufacturer’s warranty period, please contact or go into any Noel Leeming store within Greater Auckland. Please remember to have your The Good Guys invoice with you.

I purchased a product with an Extended Warranty. Will it still be honored?

Yes it will be honored up until the end of the purchased term.

How do I claim under the Extended Warranty once all the stores are closed?

Can I still purchase something with an Extended Warranty before your stores close?

No, we are no longer offering Extended Warranties with our products, however the manufacturers warranty will still apply.

I have paid for an installation in the past few days – will this still go ahead?

Yes, this will be completed as planned.

I have a web order that I place recently, will it be fulfilled?

I have a product on Back Order, will I still receive my purchase?

We will be in contact with you personally if a full refund is required or if we can offer you an upgrade.

Can I cancel a purchase that I made that has not been delivered yet?

Yes you can, please contact the store where you made the purchase to arrange.

Can I get a copy of my invoice once you have closed your stores?

Yes, please email us on customercare@thegoodguys.com.au

I have a product on Layby with one of your stores, what do I need to do?

You will need to complete the payments by July 27th 2014 or you can contact us to get a full refund and we will cancel your Layby.

The Good Guys withdraw from New Zealand

The Good Guys today announced they will exit the New Zealand market.

The Good Guys Chairman, Andrew Muir commented, “This is a logical, commercially driven decision that recognises our relatively small position in the New Zealand and that the path to gaining a significant market position and acceptable financial return is too far away.

“The New Zealand market has undergone significant rationalisation and consolidation and with only five stores, our business would require significant investment to bring it to a scale that would deliver acceptable returns.

“We are very proud of what our team in New Zealand has achieved. We provided a world class offer and value proposition for our customers and introduced strong competition that drove significant benefits for New Zealand consumers.

“We have entered into arrangements with one of New Zealand’s most respected retailers, The Warehouse Group, to ensure that we exit the New Zealand market responsibly for our key stakeholders.

“Our Australian business continues to outperform the market in both same store year on year growth and market share growth and will continue to be a focus for our future investment”.

The Good Guys will assign five of its property leases in New Zealand to The Warehouse Group, who will look to utilise these retail spaces across a mix of its retail brands. The Warehouse Group brands include The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming Group, Torpedo 7, and R&R Sports..

Employees of The Good Guys will receive their full legal entitlements prior to the finalisation of their contracts with The Good Guys and will have the opportunity to be considered for positions with The Warehouse Group.

Arrangements have also been put in place so that customer warranties and returns will be honoured by The Good Guys, via Noel Leeming stores.

All outstanding obligations to suppliers will be met in full by The Good Guys.

The Good Guys anticipate that the withdrawal of its brand from New Zealand will be complete by the end of August.
